Bank of India becomes first bank to offer Mahila Samman Savings Certificate

Bank of India has become the first bank to officially roll out Mahila Samman Savings Certificate (MSSC) scheme.

The account will mature after two years from the date of opening.

Accounts under this scheme can be opened until March 31, 2025.

The scheme offers an interest rate of 7.5% per annum, compounded quarterly.

Individual girls or women can open an account under the Mahila Samman Savings Certificate scheme or a guardian can open an account on behalf of a minor girl. 

बैंक ऑफ इंडिया महिला सम्मान बचत प्रमाणपत्र प्रदान करने वाला पहला बैंक बन गया

बैंक ऑफ इंडिया आधिकारिक तौर पर महिला सम्मान बचत प्रमाणपत्र (एमएसएससी) योजना शुरू करने वाला पहला बैंक बन गया है।

खाता खोलने की तारीख से दो साल बाद परिपक्व हो जाएगा।

इस योजना के तहत खाते 31 मार्च 2025 तक खोले जा सकते हैं।

यह योजना प्रति वर्ष 7.5% की ब्याज दर प्रदान करती है, जो त्रैमासिक रूप से चक्रवृद्धि होती है।

महिला सम्मान बचत प्रमाणपत्र योजना के तहत व्यक्तिगत लड़कियां या महिलाएं खाता खोल सकती हैं या नाबालिग लड़की की ओर से कोई अभिभावक खाता खोल सकता है।

FDI in developing countries stood at $662billion in 2022: UNCTAD

According to UNCTAD’s World Investment Report 2023, FDI in developing countries in Asia remained flat at $662 billion during 2022, as compared to the previous year.

During 2022, FDI inflows to India rose by 10% on an annual basis to $49 billion, while China registered a 5% yearly growth to $189 billion.

Overall global FDI declined by 12% to $1.3 trillion in 2022 after a strong rebound in 2021 following the steep drop induced by the coronavirus pandemic in 2020.

RBI cancels licenses of two co-operative banks

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has canceled the banking licenses of two cooperative banks in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

The licenses of Malkapur Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd, Buldhana, and Shushruti Souharda Sahakara Bank Niyamita, Bengaluru have been canceled.

The two cooperative banks ceased to carry on banking business with effect from the close of business on July 5.

These banks did not have adequate capital and earning prospects.

भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने महाराष्ट्र और कर्नाटक में दो सहकारी बैंकों के बैंकिंग लाइसेंस रद्द कर दिए हैं।

मलकापुर अर्बन को-ऑपरेटिव बैंक लिमिटेड, बुलढाणा और शुश्रुति सौहार्द सहकारी बैंक नियमिता, बेंगलुरु के लाइसेंस रद्द कर दिए गए हैं।

दोनों सहकारी बैंकों ने 5 जुलाई को कारोबार बंद होने के प्रभाव से बैंकिंग कारोबार बंद कर दिया।

इन बैंकों के पास पर्याप्त पूंजी और कमाई की संभावनाएं नहीं थीं।

Global e-commerce transactions expected to hit $8.5 trillion by 2026

As per the Global Payments Report 2023, by FIS, the global e-commerce market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 9% during 2022-26 with transaction value rising to over $8.5 trillion in 2026. 

During 2021-22, all regions except Europe saw double-digit growth with the highest growth of 21% in the Middle East and Africa. 

Of the 40 markets, 37 saw double-digit YoY growth from 2021 to 2022.

The report predicts a mid-teens CAGR in the regions through 2026.

4th edition of the Space Economy Leaders Meeting to begin in Bengaluru

The 2023 Global Peace Index released

According to the 2023 Global Peace Index (GPI), released by the Institute for Economics and Peace, India has ranked 126 out of 163 countries.

With an overall score of 2.31, India falls below the global average of 2.314.

Iceland has remained the most peaceful country in the world since the study was first released in 2008.

It measures the state of peace across three domains: Societal safety and security, Ongoing domestic and international conflict, and Militarisation.

Gujarat govt doubles insurance cover under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya scheme

The Gujarat government has doubled the insurance coverage under Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana from Rs. 5 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs, effective from July 11, 2023.

The State Health Minister Rushikesh Patel informed that the decision will benefit nearly 1.78 crore Ayushman Bharat cardholders in the state.

The beneficiaries will get free of cost medical treatment from over two thousand government hospitals and 795 private hospitals in the state under PMAY.

गुजरात सरकार ने प्रधानमंत्री जन आरोग्य योजना के तहत बीमा कवर दोगुना कर दिया है

गुजरात सरकार ने प्रधानमंत्री जन आरोग्य योजना के तहत बीमा कवरेज को दोगुना कर दिया है। 5 लाख से रु. 10 लाख, 11 जुलाई 2023 से प्रभावी।

राज्य के स्वास्थ्य मंत्री रुशिकेश पटेल ने बताया कि इस फैसले से राज्य के लगभग 1.78 करोड़ आयुष्मान भारत कार्डधारकों को लाभ होगा।

पीएमएवाई के तहत लाभार्थियों को राज्य के दो हजार से अधिक सरकारी अस्पतालों और 795 निजी अस्पतालों से मुफ्त चिकित्सा उपचार मिलेगा।

India win gold in junior mixed team at World Archery Youth C'ship 2023

Indian pair Priyansh and Avneet Kaur won gold in the junior mixed-team compound event in the final of the World Archery Youth Championships in Limerick, Ireland.

In the final, the Indian pair defeated Israel 146-144.

While India's Manav Jadhav and Aishwarya Sharma also won a bronze medal after defeating Mexico in the cadet mixed compound event.

The World Archery Youth Championships event is taking place at the University of Limerick, Ireland from July 3 to 9.

Scheme for Expansion and Modernization of Fire Services in the States

The Ministry of Home Affairs has launched a Scheme for the Expansion and Modernization of Fire Services in the States with a total outlay of Rs.5,000 Crore.

Objective: To expand and modernize Fire Services within National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF). 

Out of the total outlay, Rs. 500 crore has been kept for incentivizing the States on the basis of their legal and infrastructure-based reforms.

This scheme was announced by the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah.

राज्यों में अग्निशमन सेवाओं के विस्तार और आधुनिकीकरण की योजना

गृह मंत्रालय ने 5,000 करोड़ रुपये के कुल परिव्यय के साथ राज्यों में अग्निशमन सेवाओं के विस्तार और आधुनिकीकरण के लिए एक योजना शुरू की है।

उद्देश्य: राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रतिक्रिया कोष (एनडीआरएफ) के भीतर अग्निशमन सेवाओं का विस्तार और आधुनिकीकरण करना।

कुल परिव्यय में से रु. राज्यों को उनके कानूनी और बुनियादी ढांचे-आधारित सुधारों के आधार पर प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए 500 करोड़ रुपये रखे गए हैं।

इस योजना की घोषणा केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने की थी.

DGCA, EU Aviation Safety Agency sign MoU for unmanned aircraft systems

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has signed an MoU with the EU Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for cooperation in Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Innovative Air Mobility.

It will focus on collaboration on unmanned aircraft and innovative air mobility between the two civil aviation authorities.

It would include cooperation in the areas of development of certification standards and environmental standards and related requirements for the certification.

डीजीसीए और ईयू विमानन सुरक्षा एजेंसी ने मानवरहित विमान प्रणालियों के लिए समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए

नागरिक उड्डयन महानिदेशालय (DGCA) ने मानव रहित विमान प्रणालियों और इनोवेटिव एयर मोबिलिटी में सहयोग के लिए EU एविएशन सेफ्टी एजेंसी (EASA) के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।

यह दो नागरिक उड्डयन प्राधिकरणों के बीच मानव रहित विमान और नवीन वायु गतिशीलता पर सहयोग पर ध्यान केंद्रित करेगा।

इसमें प्रमाणन मानकों और पर्यावरण मानकों के विकास और प्रमाणन के लिए संबंधित आवश्यकताओं के क्षेत्र में सहयोग शामिल होगा।

RBI panel recommends measures for internationalization of rupee

RBI's working group has recommended the inclusion of the rupee in the Special Drawing Rights (SDR) basket and recalibration of the Foreign portfolio investor (FPI) regime to accelerate the pace of internationalization of the rupee.

The recommendations by an Inter-Departmental Group (IDG), headed by RBI Executive Director Radha Shyam Ratho.

The group was constituted by RBI Deputy Governor T Rabi Sankar to review the position of the rupee as an international currency.

7th bilateral Japan-India Maritime Exercise, JIMEX 23 held at Visakhapatnam

Indian Navy is being hosted the seventh edition of the bilateral Japan-India Maritime Exercise 2023, 'JIMEX 23' at Visakhapatnam from 5 to 10 July 2023.

This edition marks the 11th anniversary of JIMEX, since its inception in 2012.

Indian Navy participated with the INS Delhi (India's first indigenously built Guided Missile Destroyer) INS Kamorta (an indigenously designed and built Anti-Submarine Warfare Corvette), fleet tanker INS Shakti, etc.

As per the report, India would cross Japan, Germany, and the US With a population of 1.4 billion people.

India’s GDP is estimated to expand remarkably, reaching 52.5 trillion dollars surpassing the US GDP projection.

The labour force participation set to make India the second-largest economy in the world by 2075.

L&T and Spain's Navantia sign agreement for submarine project

L&T has signed a teaming agreement with Spanish-based Navantia for the submission of a techno-commercial bid for the Indian Navy’s prestigious P75 (India) submarine program.

P75 (India) Submarine Project is expected to be valued at €4.8 billion.

Navantia would carry out the design of P75(I) submarines based on its S80 class of submarines.

The first S80 class submarine was launched in 2021 and is undergoing sea trials prior to its delivery to Spanish Navy.

According to a study by Invesco Global Sovereign Asset Management, India has overtaken China to become the most attractive emerging market for investing in sovereign wealth funds this year.

Reason: This is due to its solid demographics, political stability, and proactive regulation. 

Positives for the nation also include the rapidly expanding demography, strong regulatory actions, and a welcoming climate for sovereign investors.

World Population Day is observed every year on July 11 in order to raise awareness about global population issues, including population control.

2023 theme: Unleashing the power of gender equality: Uplifting the voices of women and girls to unlock our world’s infinite possibilities. 

It was established by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 1989, after the day the world approximately reached a population of five billion, which was observed on 11 July 1987.

जनसंख्या नियंत्रण सहित वैश्विक जनसंख्या मुद्दों के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए हर साल 11 जुलाई को विश्व जनसंख्या दिवस मनाया जाता है।

2023 की थीम: लैंगिक समानता की शक्ति को उजागर करना: हमारी दुनिया की अनंत संभावनाओं को अनलॉक करने के लिए महिलाओं और लड़कियों की आवाज़ को ऊपर उठाना।

इसकी स्थापना 1989 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र विकास कार्यक्रम (यूएनडीपी) द्वारा की गई थी, उस दिन के बाद जब दुनिया की आबादी लगभग पांच अरब हो गई थी, जो 11 जुलाई 1987 को मनाया गया था।

MoHUA conducts SBM-U 2.0 Planning & Implementation Review-cum-Workshop

The Housing Ministry organized a review-cum-workshop to evaluate and accelerate the planning and implementation of the SBM-Urban 2.0.

PM Modi launched the 2.0 versions of SBM-U and AMRUT on October 1, 2021.

SBM-U 2.0: Achieving 100% waste segregation in all households and premises and 100% door-to-door collection of segregated waste from each. 

AMRUT 2.0: To provide complete coverage of water supply to all households and sewerage and septage in 500 AMRUT cities.

एसबीएम-यू 2.0: सभी घरों और परिसरों में 100% कचरा पृथक्करण और प्रत्येक से अलग किए गए कचरे का 100% घर-घर संग्रह प्राप्त करना।

AMRUT 2.0: 500 AMRUT शहरों में सभी घरों में जल आपूर्ति और सीवरेज और सेप्टेज की पूर्ण कवरेज प्रदान करना।

Gujarat CM launches pilot project of ‘Antyodaya Shramik Suraksha Yojana’

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel launched the Antyodaya Shram Suraksha Accident Insurance Scheme from Kheda

All those registered under the e-Shram portal from Nadiad will benefit from the scheme.

It is being implemented through the Indian Postal Department, the IPPB, and the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

Under this scheme, insurance with a premium of Rs. 289 and Rs. 499 per year will be a big support to workers in the event of death or partial disability.

नडियाद से ई-श्रम पोर्टल के तहत पंजीकृत सभी लोगों को योजना से लाभ होगा।

इसे भारतीय डाक विभाग, आईपीपीबी और श्रम एवं रोजगार मंत्रालय के माध्यम से कार्यान्वित किया जा रहा है।

इस योजना के तहत 100 रुपये के प्रीमियम पर बीमा मिलता है. 289 और रु. मृत्यु या आंशिक विकलांगता की स्थिति में प्रति वर्ष 499 रुपये श्रमिकों के लिए एक बड़ा समर्थन होगा।

OCA elects Sheikh Talal as the new President

Kuwait’s Sheikh Talal Fahad Al Ahmad Al Sabah has been elected as the new President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

He replaced his older brother Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, who led the OCA for 30 years until 2021.

The OCA was founded in 1982 by his father Fahad Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who led it until 1990.

The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) is a governing body of sports in Asia, currently with 45 member National Olympic Committees.

कुवैत के शेख तलाल फहद अल अहमद अल सबा को एशिया ओलंपिक परिषद (OCA) का नया अध्यक्ष चुना गया है।

उन्होंने अपने बड़े भाई शेख अहमद अल-फहद अल-सबा का स्थान लिया, जिन्होंने 2021 तक 30 वर्षों तक ओसीए का नेतृत्व किया।
