Legendary manga artist Leiji Matsumoto passes away

Legendary manga artist, Leiji Matsumoto passed away at age 85 due to acute heart failure in Tokyo, Japan.

His manga works Galaxy Express 999 and Space Pirate Captain Herlock were adapted into television anime series in the 1970s and became huge hits in and outside Japan.

Many of his manga was in the "battlefield comics" genre with more than 150 stories depicting the tragedy of war.

Mangas are comics or graphic novels originating from Japan.

Poet V Madhusoodanan Nair receives Jnanappana award 2023

A noted writer, V Madhusoodanan Nair has been selected for Jnanappana Puraskaram 2023 for his contribution to the field of literature.

The award consists of a Rs 50,001 cash prize, a 10-gram gold locket with an image of Sree Guruvayoorappan, a citation, and a memento.

This award was instituted by Guruvayur Devaswom in memory of ‘Poonthanam Namboothiri’, the ardent devotee of Guruvayoorappan, who wrote Jnanappana.

The award will be presented on February 24, 2023.

प्रसिद्ध लेखक, वी मधुसूदनन नायर को साहित्य के क्षेत्र में उनके योगदान के लिए ज्ञानप्पन पुरस्कारम 2023 के लिए चुना गया है।

Actor Nandamuri Taraka Ratna passes away

Noted Actor and Politician, Nandamuri Taraka Ratna passed away at the age of 39 due to cardiac arrest in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

He was the grandson of the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and founder of the TDP, N.T. Rama Rao.

He made his debut with Okato Number Kurraadu (2002) followed by Yuva Rathna (2003), Taarak (2003), and Bhadradri Ramudu.

He was also awarded the Nandi Award 2009 for Best Villain in Amaravathi.

प्रसिद्ध अभिनेता और राजनेता, नंदामुरी तारक रत्न का 39 वर्ष की आयु में कर्नाटक के बेंगलुरु में हृदय गति रुकने से निधन हो गया।

Govt approves Rs 30.40 cr ‘Sensor-based Smart Agriculture’ project

Jammu and Kashmir's government has approved Rs 30.40 crore for the Sensor-based Smart Agriculture project.

It aims to integrate agriculture with technology driven by Artificial Insemination and IoT to automate practices, enhance resource use efficiency, and improve profitability.

The project would enable the use of Hi-tech poly houses to cultivate cash crops around the year.

In J&K, over 70% of the economy is based on agriculture.

सरकार ने 30.40 करोड़ रुपये की 'सेंसर आधारित स्मार्ट कृषि' परियोजना को मंजूरी दी

जम्मू और कश्मीर सरकार ने सेंसर आधारित स्मार्ट कृषि परियोजना के लिए 30.40 करोड़ रुपये मंजूर किए हैं।

इसका उद्देश्य कृत्रिम गर्भाधान और आईओटी द्वारा संचालित प्रौद्योगिकी के साथ कृषि को एकीकृत करना है ताकि प्रथाओं को स्वचालित किया जा सके, संसाधन उपयोग दक्षता में वृद्धि की जा सके और लाभप्रदता में सुधार किया जा सके।

यह परियोजना साल भर नकदी फसलों की खेती के लिए हाई-टेक पॉली हाउसों के उपयोग को सक्षम बनाएगी।

MEA launches 'mPassport Police App'

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has launched the 'mPassport Police App' to streamline and expedite the police verification process for passport issuance.

The App was launched by Union Home Minister Amit Shah during the 76th Raising Day Parade of Delhi Police.

The mPassport Police App will cut the verification time period to 5 days.

He also dedicated 350 mobile Tablets to personnel of the Delhi Police Special Branch, on the occasion of the force's Raising Day.

एमपासपोर्ट पुलिस ऐप सत्यापन समय अवधि को घटाकर 5 दिन कर देगा।

उन्होंने बल के स्थापना दिवस के अवसर पर दिल्ली पुलिस की विशेष शाखा के कर्मियों को 350 मोबाइल टैबलेट भी समर्पित किए।

The RBI issued the final guidelines on Interest Rate Risk (IRR) in the Banking Book.

Banks use this to measure, monitor, and disclose their exposure to IRRBB, which may impact the capital base and future earnings of lenders.

IRRBB: The current or prospective risk to banks' capital and earnings arising from adverse movements in interest rates that affect their banking book positions.

Excessive IRRBB: Risk to banks' current capital base and/or future earnings

भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक बैंकिंग बही में ब्याज दर जोखिम पर अंतिम दिशानिर्देश जारी करता है

आरबीआई ने बैंकिंग बही में ब्याज दर जोखिम (आईआरआर) पर अंतिम दिशानिर्देश जारी किए।

बैंक इसका उपयोग IRRBB के प्रति अपने जोखिम को मापने, निगरानी करने और प्रकट करने के लिए करते हैं, जो उधारदाताओं के पूंजी आधार और भविष्य की आय को प्रभावित कर सकता है।

North India's first nuclear power plant to be set up in Gorakhpur, Haryana

Union MoS, Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh announced that North India's first nuclear power plant would be set up in Gorakhpur in Fatehabad district, Haryana.

The plant will be built on 560 hectares of land.

Aim: To generate 2800 MW

The first phase will be completed by 2025 and the second by 2028.

As the second phase completes, the plant will be fully operational to generate 2800 MW.

The project will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 20,594 crores.

उत्तर भारत का पहला परमाणु ऊर्जा संयंत्र गोरखपुर, हरियाणा में स्थापित किया जाएगा

केंद्रीय राज्य मंत्री, विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी, जितेंद्र सिंह ने घोषणा की कि उत्तर भारत का पहला परमाणु ऊर्जा संयंत्र हरियाणा के फतेहाबाद जिले के गोरखपुर में स्थापित किया जाएगा।

प्लांट 560 हेक्टेयर जमीन पर बनाया जाएगा।

लक्ष्यः 2800 मेगावाट बिजली पैदा करना

पहला चरण 2025 तक और दूसरा 2028 तक पूरा हो जाएगा।

दूसरे चरण के पूरा होते ही संयंत्र 2800 मेगावाट उत्पादन करने के लिए पूरी तरह चालू हो जाएगा।

यह परियोजना 20,594 करोड़ रुपये की अनुमानित लागत से बनाई जाएगी।

India’s lunar mission Chandrayaan-3 achieves new milestone

India’s lunar mission, Chandrayaan-3 has successfully underwent Electro-Magnetic Interference/ Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMI-EMC).

EMI-EMC test: It is conducted for satellite missions to ensure the functionality of the satellite subsystems in the space environment.

It also ensures compatibility with the expected electromagnetic levels.

The test was conducted by the ISRO at U R Rao Satellite Centre, Bengaluru.

The performance of the systems was satisfactory.

India-Uzbekistan biennial military Ex-DUSTLIK 2023 begins in Uttarakhand

The 4th edition of the biennial training Ex DUSTLIK 2023, between the Indian Army and Uzbekistan Army is being conducted in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand from 20th February to 5th March 2023. 

Aim: To enhance the military capability to undertake multi-domain operations in a Sub Conventional scenario. 

The 14th Battalion, the GARHWAL RIFLES, part of Western Command represented the Indian contingent. 

The troops of the North Western Military District represented the Uzbekistan Army.

India-US launched ‘Operation Broader Sword’

India and the USA, jointly conducted an ‘Operation Broader Sword’ to stop the illegal shipment of drugs through the International Mail System.

It targeted shipments of illicit, potentially dangerous, unapproved prescription drugs, combination medical devices, and synthetic drug precursors shipped through International Mail Facilities.

The operation resulted in the interception of over 500 shipments of illicit and unapproved prescription drugs bound for US consumers.

Aim: To emphasize its commitment to actively seek partnerships outside the varsity and draw from their experiences and perspectives to develop quality legal scholarship. 

It is open to those who have at least three years of demonstrable experience working on issues that have a significant interface with the law.

CarTrade Tech to acquire OLX India's auto business for Rs 537 cr

Mumbai-based used cars platform CarTrade Tech Ltd will acquire online marketplace OLX India's auto sales business for Rs 537 crore.

CarTrade will acquire a 100% stake in Sobek Auto India Pvt Ltd, the entity that houses OLX India’s Automotive business, in an all-cash deal.

The acquisition will likely to be completed in 21-30 days.

Sobek is a company incorporated under the Companies Act, of 2013.

It is engaged in the business of running an automotive digital platform.

CarTrade Tech 537 करोड़ रुपये में OLX इंडिया के ऑटो कारोबार का अधिग्रहण करेगी

OCA elects Sheikh Talal as the new President

Kuwait’s Sheikh Talal Fahad Al Ahmad Al Sabah has been elected as the new President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

He replaced his older brother Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, who led the OCA for 30 years until 2021.

The OCA was founded in 1982 by his father Fahad Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who led it until 1990.

The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) is a governing body of sports in Asia, currently with 45 member National Olympic Committees.

Gujarat CM launches pilot project of ‘Antyodaya Shramik Suraksha Yojana’

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel launched the Antyodaya Shram Suraksha Accident Insurance Scheme from Kheda

All those registered under the e-Shram portal from Nadiad will benefit from the scheme.

It is being implemented through the Indian Postal Department, the IPPB, and the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

Under this scheme, insurance with a premium of Rs. 289 and Rs. 499 per year will be a big support to workers in the event of death or partial disability.

गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री ने 'अंत्योदय श्रमिक सुरक्षा योजना' का पायलट प्रोजेक्ट लॉन्च किया

गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री भूपेन्द्र पटेल ने खेड़ा से अंत्योदय श्रम सुरक्षा दुर्घटना बीमा योजना का शुभारंभ किया

नडियाद से ई-श्रम पोर्टल के तहत पंजीकृत सभी लोगों को योजना से लाभ होगा।

इसे भारतीय डाक विभाग, आईपीपीबी और श्रम एवं रोजगार मंत्रालय के माध्यम से कार्यान्वित किया जा रहा है।

इस योजना के तहत 100 रुपये के प्रीमियम पर बीमा मिलता है. 289 और रु. मृत्यु या आंशिक विकलांगता की स्थिति में प्रति वर्ष 499 रुपये श्रमिकों के लिए एक बड़ा समर्थन होगा।

PM Modi launched the 2.0 versions of SBM-U and AMRUT on October 1, 2021.

SBM-U 2.0: Achieving 100% waste segregation in all households and premises and 100% door-to-door collection of segregated waste from each. 

AMRUT 2.0: To provide complete coverage of water supply to all households and sewerage and septage in 500 AMRUT cities. 

MoHUA ने SBM-U 2.0 योजना और कार्यान्वयन समीक्षा-सह-कार्यशाला आयोजित की

आवास मंत्रालय ने एसबीएम-शहरी 2.0 की योजना और कार्यान्वयन का मूल्यांकन और उसमें तेजी लाने के लिए एक समीक्षा-सह-कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया।

पीएम मोदी ने 1 अक्टूबर, 2021 को SBM-U और AMRUT के 2.0 संस्करण लॉन्च किए।

एसबीएम-यू 2.0: सभी घरों और परिसरों में 100% कचरा पृथक्करण और प्रत्येक से अलग किए गए कचरे का 100% घर-घर संग्रह प्राप्त करना।

AMRUT 2.0: 500 AMRUT शहरों में सभी घरों में जल आपूर्ति और सीवरेज और सेप्टेज की पूर्ण कवरेज प्रदान करना।

World Population Day 2023: 11 July

World Population Day is observed every year on July 11 in order to raise awareness about global population issues, including population control.

2023 theme: Unleashing the power of gender equality: Uplifting the voices of women and girls to unlock our world’s infinite possibilities. 

It was established by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 1989, after the day the world approximately reached a population of five billion, which was observed on 11 July 1987.

विश्व जनसंख्या दिवस 2023: 11 जुलाई

जनसंख्या नियंत्रण सहित वैश्विक जनसंख्या मुद्दों के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए हर साल 11 जुलाई को विश्व जनसंख्या दिवस मनाया जाता है।

2023 की थीम: लैंगिक समानता की शक्ति को उजागर करना: हमारी दुनिया की अनंत संभावनाओं को अनलॉक करने के लिए महिलाओं और लड़कियों की आवाज़ को ऊपर उठाना।

इसकी स्थापना 1989 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र विकास कार्यक्रम (यूएनडीपी) द्वारा की गई थी, उस दिन के बाद जब दुनिया की आबादी लगभग पांच अरब हो गई थी, जो 11 जुलाई 1987 को मनाया गया था।

India overtakes China as most attractive emerging market for investing

According to a study by Invesco Global Sovereign Asset Management, India has overtaken China to become the most attractive emerging market for investing in sovereign wealth funds this year.

Reason: This is due to its solid demographics, political stability, and proactive regulation. 

Positives for the nation also include the rapidly expanding demography, strong regulatory actions, and a welcoming climate for sovereign investors.

भारत निवेश के लिए सबसे आकर्षक उभरते बाजार के रूप में चीन से आगे निकल गया है

इनवेस्को ग्लोबल सॉवरेन एसेट मैनेजमेंट के एक अध्ययन के अनुसार, भारत इस साल सॉवरेन वेल्थ फंड में निवेश के लिए सबसे आकर्षक उभरता बाजार बन गया है।

कारण: यह इसकी ठोस जनसांख्यिकी, राजनीतिक स्थिरता और सक्रिय विनियमन के कारण है।

राष्ट्र के लिए सकारात्मक पहलुओं में तेजी से बढ़ती जनसांख्यिकी, मजबूत नियामक कार्रवाइयां और संप्रभु निवेशकों के लिए स्वागत योग्य माहौल भी शामिल है।

L&T and Spain's Navantia sign agreement for submarine project

L&T has signed a teaming agreement with Spanish-based Navantia for the submission of a techno-commercial bid for the Indian Navy’s prestigious P75 (India) submarine program.

P75 (India) Submarine Project is expected to be valued at €4.8 billion.

Navantia would carry out the design of P75(I) submarines based on its S80 class of submarines.

The first S80 class submarine was launched in 2021 and is undergoing sea trials prior to its delivery to Spanish Navy. 

एलएंडटी और स्पेन की नवान्टिया ने पनडुब्बी परियोजना के लिए समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किये

एलएंडटी ने भारतीय नौसेना के प्रतिष्ठित P75 (भारत) पनडुब्बी कार्यक्रम के लिए तकनीकी-वाणिज्यिक बोली प्रस्तुत करने के लिए स्पेनिश-आधारित नवंतिया के साथ एक टीमिंग समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।

P75 (भारत) पनडुब्बी परियोजना का मूल्य €4.8 बिलियन होने की उम्मीद है।

नवंतिया अपनी S80 श्रेणी की पनडुब्बियों के आधार पर P75(I) पनडुब्बियों का डिज़ाइन तैयार करेगी।

पहली S80 श्रेणी की पनडुब्बी 2021 में लॉन्च की गई थी और स्पेनिश नौसेना को इसकी डिलीवरी से पहले समुद्री परीक्षणों से गुजर रही है।
